The Idrija Lace School is recognisable and valued institution in the expert circles at home and abroad. The School has been operating non-stop from the establishment in 1876 until today.
The primary activity of the School is education of children and adults in the are of lace-making. Beside this, we also take care of informing about important part of Slovene heritage.
Visitors of our lace exhibition, which is settled every June anew, are given an expertly guided tour.  They can see coloured laces – first steps to the world of lace made by our youngest pupils, up to the real masterpieces. In the time of the Idrija Lace Festival visitors can vote for the most beautiful lace by their selection.
The exhibition is accompanied by lace-making demonstration and the possibility of purchasing a wide selection of quality hand made lace.  Those concerned can be taught the basic twisting and crossing of the threads.

Opening hours:
Work days from 10 a.m to 1 p.m., July and August every day also from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.. For groups who notify visit in advance also outside opening hours.

Entrance fee:
2,5€ per person, groups over 10 2€. Free entrance for children under 15 accompanied by their parents.
