Address: Bizeljska cesta 8250 Brežice

The silhouette of the medieval town of
Brežice was transformed by the water tower in 1914. It was constructed because in this flat town they needed sufficient water pressure. The tower of reinforced concrete with a reservoir on the top was built. In Slovenia a similar tower can only be found in Kranj. A peculiarity of the Brežice water tower is that it was modelled on historicity forms of German towns, as the outer coat below the cone-shaped roof is reminiscent of a medieval defence tower.
The water tower has been preserved as the
highest and dominant
town building which ends the series of streets between the castle and the tower. Today the waterworks has more modern pumps so the tower is used for different purposes.
