Slovenia: Be(e) Responsible

Why Slovenia at the World Travel Market 2017 (6 - 8 November):

For tour operators, travel agents, media and all other business.

1. Slovenia want to showcase historic cities / heritage with modern culture

At this year’s World Travel Market, Slovenia Tourism will be introducing 2018/2019 as the official Year of Culture, in order to promote the country’s rich cultural and natural heritage alongside responsible tourism. The Year of Culture campaign will feature Slovenia’s countless cultural offerings, from the galleries and museums of the capital Ljubljana to ancient castles, World Heritage Sites and a year-round calendar of performances and festivals that showcases the very best of Slovenia’s theatrical and musical talent.

2. Event - Announcing media opportunities / Slovenia’s 2018/ 19 campaign

In order to officially launch our 2018/2019 Year of Culture we will be hosting an invitation-only event at the Slovenia stand at 11am on Tuesday the 7th of November. This will be a fantastic opportunity for media professionals to network, learn about Slovenian media opportunities for 2018 and also sample some of the finest examples of Slovenia’s rich honey-making heritage.  If you would like to register your interest in attending this event please email: slovenia@alexandramarr.com

3. Radovljica the Historical City is WTM Partner & Year of Culture campaign

We would also like to announce that our official partner for this year’s World Travel Market is the historical city of Radovljica, a destination that is famous for its rich bee-keeping tradition and where the bee-keeping museum tells the story behind Slovenia’s passion for api-tourism that goes back centuries. As Slovenia’s official partner Radovljica will be preparing many activities for WTM visitors to try, including honey tastings, gingerbread workshops, bee hive painting workshops and much more!

4. First EVER World Bee Day in May 2018

To celebrate the first World Bee Day in May 2018, Slovenia will also showcase itself as a world leader in api-tourism. Slovenia is a proud beekeeping nation (with an estimated eight hives per square kilometre) and this year will see us promote our bee and honey-related offerings, from apiculture museums and api-wellness centres to honey liqueur! Be sure to visit the stand if you want to find out more about these unique media stories and package opportunities.
