With rises of 12% on the number of foreign tourists and 8% in the number of overnight stays by foreign tourists, tourism in Slovenia recorded above-average performance in European and global terms. The number of arrivals of foreign tourists was up by 11.8 per cent, generating 8.1 per cent more overnight stays than the year before. An increase in the number of arrivals and overnight stays of domestic guests has been recorded again this year, i.e. 9.2 and 6.5 per cent respectively.

Slovenian tourism regained an independent organisation carrying out the tasks of the national tourist board, primarily the promotion of our country as a tourist destination in foreign markets. In them, the promotional campaign “I FEEL SLOVENIA, Green.Active.Healthy.” is very successfully conducted, for which the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology (MEDT) has provided 3.7 million euro of European funds.The effect has already been noticed in the excellent results of Slovenian tourism in the first half of this year.
