Dolenje is situated on a ledge above the valley of the river Raša. Houses with flat roofs and stones put on korci are typical of this region. Dolenje has also an open-air bowling alley. While the spring in Šulka was stemmed for the local water supply, the štirna is used mainly for watering the plants. The village is surrounded by vineyards and orchards and by the road is a gravel pit. In a near ravine flow two brooks Strmadna and Vilenca, which flow into the Raša river valley.
