Sveti Tomaž is a larger village with its centre at the Parish Church St Thomas (sv.Tomaž) which stands below the cumulous summit of the hill Kostanj. Sveti Tomaž lies in the middle of the west Ljutomer - Ormož Hills, between Ormož, Ptuj and Ljutomer. The hilly landscape is comprised of wide ridges between branches of the sources of the Lešnica and Sejanski potok stream. On the largest hill Gomila stands a tower from which there is a wonderful view far around in good weather. The main economy branches there are mainly farming and cattle breeding, in some places also wine growing has found its place. The Baroque parish church was constructed in the year 1715–1727 with the help of the feudal patrons: the countess Elizabeth Saurau – Pethe, Muhr Barons and the superintendent Gvido Starhemberg. The church was consecrated in the year 1742. It is a large piece of modern architecture, which was among the first ones in our territory to introduce a uniform, centrally arranged building with the ground plan in the shape of the isosceles cross (in our case the emblem of Teutonic Knights' of the Cross) and with a semi-cupola shape accentuated central area. Visitors can also visit the pond and Stajnko's water mill in Savci (info: + 386 2 719 52 66).
A local tourist guide of Ormož municipality will be glad to take you along the wine roads and show you the attractions of Ormož municipality (see the list of local guides).
