The traditions of straw weaving and making ornaments from crepe paper and wax still survive in Lipovci today. Two Roman burial mounds are located in the village of Lipovci. A Roman burnt grave was found in one of them. Other historical monuments include the statue of a standing peasant woman – the tombstone of the mother of the painter Karel Jakob, made in 1922 by the sculptor Franc Kuhar.
The village is also known for hosting an annual artists' colony.
The chapel in Lipovci was built in 1922 and is dedicated to St Peter and St Paul.
