Between two gothic churches lies a square with typical Bovec houses and friendly restaurants, shops, and hotels.

In the area called Kaninska vas (a series of apartment buildings), languages from far and wide intermingle.

Not far from town, by the confluence of the Soča River and Koritnica River, there are a series of arranged campsites.

In the open field nearby, sports aircraft take off and land.

Out through Brdo and Dvor runs the road to the Kanin cable car.

The earliest mention of Bovec is from 1174, but the history of this pleasant area stretches much further back in time – to the Roman road through Predel and to finds from the early Iron Age.
