Ana Roš and STB win the Crystal Triglav 2017 award

Ana Roš, the best female chef in the world, received a prestigious Crystal Triglav 2017 from the Slovenian Association of Tourist Journalists for her contribution to the visibility of Slovenia as a tourist destination. Her story, written together with her husband, Valter Kramar, and their colleagues at Hiša Franko, has attracted numerous guests to Slovenia and the Soča valley. Ana Roš put Slovenia on the gastronomic and tourist map of the world this year, becoming the most recognisable ambassador of Slovenian tourism and an exceptional provider of everything that she strives for: green and sustainable development.

The Slovenian Tourist Board was also among the receivers of the prestigious award. In the last two years, Slovenian tourism has experienced a true rebirth. A series of innovative promotional campaigns, in cooperation with the Slovenian tourist economy and other stakeholders, has significantly influenced the increase in visitors and revenues from foreign tourists. The STB has developed modern digital marketing and started innovative digital campaigns, upgraded business events abroad (for the first time also with a partnership in the largest event, ITB Berlin), and intensified cooperation with the most influential tourist media in the countries most foreign tourists come from. "Slovenia – green, active, healthy" was the message in all their activities, and this strongly influenced the development of sustainable tourism in Slovenia. At the 51st International Tourist Bourse in Berlin, the Slovenian Tourist Board received the celebrated National Geographic World Legacy Award and influenced the proclamation of Slovenia as the first green country in the world.
