The most searched Slovenian destinations by Trivago
Trivago, the world’s top hotel price comparison site, carried out a survey of which domestic destinations attracted the most interest in visitors this summer. The most popular Slovenian destinations were Portorož, Ljubljana, Bled, Izola, Piran, Koper, Maribor, Kranjska Gora, Bohinj and Strunjan, according to the data obtained from 55 international travel platforms. The survey was made with travellers from Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Hungary and Germany, and it included all searches carried out between 15th May 2017 and 15th July 2017 for a requested travel period of between 1st July 2017 and 31st August 2017.
The survey also showed that Portorož ranks in the top five destinations in all five observed markets. The coastal town is popular with Slovenians who search for 3- to 4-day holidays, while Germans show greater interest in 5- to 8-day holidays in Portorož.
The most popular destination search for Germans is Ljubljana. On average, they search for 2-day accommodation in the Slovenian capital. Ljubljana did not rank on the list of the five most searched destinations from Hungarian and domestic guests.
Bled ranks high on the list of searched destinations by foreign visitors. On average, they look for 3-day accommodation. Italians are interested in longer overnight stays, while Austrians tend to look for shorter getaways.
Slovenians are most interested in holidays in the coastal towns. There is a lot of interest in Strunjan, where the average search for longer queries is 4.1 days.
