Slovenia Green family with 3 national parks and reserves
The Slovenian Tourist Board has invited destinations and providers to join the Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism for the third year in a row. The Slovenia Green family has expanded and now also includes 3 national parks and reserves – the Triglav National Park, the Kozjansko regional park, and the Park Škocjanske jame.
This year, the Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism has been expanded by parks and reserves. The entry into the scheme, and gaining the Slovenian Green sign, is possible using existing environmental certificates, the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism and Protected Areas, and UNESCO's Man and the Biosphere Programme (MAB).
The Slovenian Tourist Board invited 3 parks and reserves which already have the internationally recognised certificates to join the Slovenia Green family - the Triglav National Park, the Kozjansko Park and the Škocjan Caves Park. We are delighted that the managers of these protected areas received the symbol "Slovenia Green Park” at the Slovenia Green Day in Maribor on 12th June.
Visit one of the Slovenian nature parks and reserves and treat yourself to an unforgettable active experience in picturesque nature. Mountain lovers will enjoy the hiking trails in the oldest national park in Europe (the Triglav National Park), easier walks welcome you to eastern Slovenia in the company of the typical Kozjansko apples (the Kozjansko Park), while the underground world awaits in the Škocjan Caves.
