The Silver Award for “Rudolfov splav” (“Rudolf’s Raft”)

The Kompas Novo mesto company received a Silver Award from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry within the framework of the 10th Day of Quality and Innovation of the Lower and the Upper Carniola regions for their Rudolf’s Raft innovation. This is the first award for innovation that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry has conferred on a tourist product. Kompas Novo mesto is also a finalist competing for the title of the most innovative tourist product in Slovenia, which is announced each year at the Slovenian Tourist Forum by the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB). The raft programme is connected to the hospitality and tourist offering of the wider region. The raft offering includes culinary experiences, concerts, business meetings and even weddings. Programmes for children and adults (such as birthday celebrations and various anniversaries) are also available. The concept combines tradition and modernity and is an attempt to revive folk tradition. The activity programme on the raft is in Slovenian, English, German and Italian. Rudolf’s Raft is an important contribution to the revival of the old town centre of Novo mesto, as almost everyone opts for a tour of the old town centre and the cathedral either before or after the ride. Next year, they will contribute EUR 0.50 per visitor to the raft towards a cleaner River Krka.
