8% More Foreign and 6% More Local Visitors in the First Ten Months

In the first ten months of this year, the Slovenian tourist economy has seen an increase in the number of arrivals and overnight stays of both local and foreign visitors, continuing the established trend. According to the figures of the Statistical Office of the RS (SURS), the total number of arrivals in the first ten months of this year has increased by 7% in comparison with the previous (to a total of 2,348,053 arrivals) and the number of foreign and local visitors has increased by 8% and 6%, respectively. The total number of overnight stays has increased by 6% (to a total of 7,312,521 overnight stays) in comparison with the same period last year, while the number of overnight stays by foreign and local visitors increased by 8% and 4%, respectively. First place in the number of arrivals went again to tourists from Italy (with a 4% increase in the number of tourists), second place went to tourists from Germany (with a 2% increase in the number of arrivals) and third place to tourists from the neighbouring Austria (a 2% increase in the number tourists). The overview for the first ten months concerning the number of arrivals and overnight stays shows that the annual quantitative goals set by Slovenian tourism - a 4% increase in the number of overnight stays and a 6% increase in the number of arrivals - will be achieved or surpassed.
