Camping Šobec in First Place Again

The Tourist Association of Slovenia has executed the “Moja dežela – lepa in gostoljubna” (“My Country – Beautiful and Hospitable”) project again this year under the aegis of the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning. Within the frame of this project, the commissions assessed the orderliness of the towns, health resorts, schools, kindergartens and camps. In the larger camps category, first place went again to Camping Šobec. This is the 91st award for the camp, which has celebrated its 50th anniversary. This year, the Šobčev bajer swimming area received the “Modra zastava” (“Blue flag”) award for the seventh consecutive time. In the previous year, Camp Šobec was one of the six camps to receive the European award from the German DCC club – an honour that has still not been forgotten. This year, the camp had 21,000 guests who booked about 84,000 overnight stays – 12% more than in the previous year.
