The business website www.slovenia.info has published the figures of the annual report on the travel intentions of Slovenians in 2007.

The business website www.slovenia.info has published the figures of the annual report on the travel intentions of Slovenians in 2007. Their intended travel destinations were monitored over a long period of time with regard to destination countries, principal activities on vacation, the anticipated expenditure and the reasons for not going on vacations.

In 2007, Slovenia was the most popular destination (in spring: 39%, in autumn: 42%, in winter: 41%) with the exception of summertime, when most of the people questioned were planning a vacation in Croatia (54%). In winter, there was also increased interest for Austria (14%) and Italy (11%). 74% of those questioned expected relaxation, rest and/or entertainment to be their chief activity in summer and autumn, while 53% expected mainly recreational sporting activities in winter. The people questioned planned to spend, on average, 364.02 EUR. or 57.68 EUR. per day on individual vacations in 2007. Approximately one third of those questioned planned their vacation with the help of a tourist agency, mostly in winter (34%), while 27% of people questioned employed the help of travel agencies to organise their summer travels.
