The Continuation of the Positive Trend of Tourist Arrivals and Overnight Stays

In 2007, the Slovenian tourism economy has recorded a continuation in the trend of growth in the number of arrivals and overnight stays of both domestic and foreign guests. According to the unofficial data of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia for December 2007, the total number of arrivals in 2007 has increased by 8% (2,672,939 arrivals) in comparison with the previous year, while the number of overnights has increased by 7 % (8,244,349 overnights), the number of arrivals of foreign guests has increased by 8% compared to the previous year and the number of overnights by 8%. The number of arrivals of domestic tourists has increased by 7%, while we are recording a growth of 7% in overnight stays by Slovenian guests. Thus, the quantitative objectives of Slovenia tourism, as defined in the Development Plan and Policies of Slovenian Tourism 2007-2011 and in the Slovenian Tourism Strategy 2007-2011, have been achieved.
