Slovenia at the BTL Lisbon Fair and the 2008 Holiday World Show in Dublin

Between 16 and 20 January 2008, Slovenia made its premier appearance at the BTL fair (Bolsa de turismo Lisboa), the largest and most prestigious tourism event in Portugal. Presentation activities at the well-visited 36-square-metre Slovenian stand primarily focused on the Slovenian tourism offering and Slovenia’s presidency of the European Union. The Portuguese who participated in the prize game demonstrated quite a high level of familiarity with Slovenia’s natural beauties as they were able to recognise Lake Bled, the Postojna Cave and the Tromostovje (The Three Bridges) without much difficulty. Many of the visitors to the Slovenian stand had already vacationed in Slovenia as part of a round tour of several countries.

Between 24 and 27 January 2008, Slovenia represented its tourist economy at the Irish tourism fair known as The Holiday World Show. The first two days of the fair were open to professional communities and the remainder to the general public. Presentation activities at the Slovenian stand mainly revolved around the Julian Alps. Visitors showed a great deal of interest in skiing, golf and in the towns.
