Ski resorts equipped with snow guns have started the ski season in November, the rest, due to lack of snowfall, in December, some even beginning of January. Two campaigns were run, like previous years, in association with the Slovenian Olympic Committee: Slovenia Skiing and the Snow Queen Contest. The 2007/2008 Snow Queen, to represent Slovenian ski resorts at home and abroad next season, was announced at the Krvavec ski resort on 8 March 2008. The Ski Lift System Development Strategy of the Republic of Slovenia is also in the final stage of preparation before launch, with ski resort administrations making the final amendments. Two new ski lifts are expected to be built on Krvavec: A four-seat chair lift to substitute the existing two-seater to Tiha dolina, and a new six-seat chair lift on the new Areh piste to Ruše.

The »SLOVENIJA KOLESARI V GORSKIH CENTRIH« campaign (Cycling in Mountain Centres), organised by the Slovenian Olympic Committee and the Tourist Association of Slovenia, presents highlights of summer season programmes, which are being prepared at Slovenian ski resorts. The campaign brings together eight major centres: Maribor Pohorje, Kranjska Gora, Rogla, Krvavec, Golte, Velika Planina, Kanin and Cerkno. Apart from this campaign, the overall offer also includes the following tourist spots: Vogel, Bled-Straža, Javornik, Soriška Planina, Zelenica, Celjska Koča, Ivarčko-Kotlje, Trije kralji, Logarska valley, Črna na Koroškem and Kandrše. Some locations offer tourist chair lift rides, also for summer tobogganing: Maribor Pohorje, Kranjska Gora, Bled and Rogla. Tourists will also get to choose from a wide range of activities: mountain biking, guided hiking and trekking tours, horseback riding, paragliding, gastronomic delights and homemade delicacies, hotel and hut lodging, evening entertainment events, and others.
