Five Years of Hostel Celica

Thursday, 29 May 2008, was marked by Hostel Celica's 5th anniversary. The celebration, attended by the hostel's partners and friends, was hosted by Toni Cahunek, with Neisha and her band as musical guests.

This jubilee was a tribute to the building's history, its present operation, and numerous successes and awards the hostel has won in its 5-year history: “25 Places to Stay”, awarded by Rough Guides, a travel publisher which ranked Hostel Celica among the 25 world's ultimate places to stay; the Special Award of the Ljubljana Municipality in recognition of the hostel's innovative contribution to the development of the tourism offer and promotion of Ljubljana; Hippest Hostel #1, awarded by Lonely Planet, which gave Hostel Celica the title of the hippest hostel No. 1 in the world; Zlati sejalec, awarded by the Slovenian Tourist Board to Zavod Šouhostel for taking first place among tourist product providers, with Hostel Celica as the most innovative tourism product in Slovenia; and the Ljubljana Plaque for outstanding artistic achievements, awarded by the Municipality of Ljubljana to the Sestava group.
Awards were also presented to the most credited individuals whose contribution helped Celica evolve into what it is today.
