Slovenia Attractive for Netherlands Meetings Market

Director of the Slovenian Convention Bureau Miha Kovačič and Head of the Benelux Tourist Office Rok Klančnik took part in the meetings industry workshop in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) at the end of May. Organised by the Association of Foreign Tourist Offices, the workshop involved 17 destinations and around 80 potential buyers.

Director of the Slovenian Convention Bureau Miha Kovačič and Head of the Benelux Tourist Office Rok Klančnik took part in the meetings industry workshop in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) at the end of May. Organised by the Association of Foreign Tourist Offices, the workshop involved 17 destinations and around 80 potential buyers.

The event took place aboard the James Cook, where Slovenian representatives met with many event organisers as well as business travel, convention tourism and incentive travel specialists from major tour operators such as Thomas Cook, Carlson Wagonlit, Kras and Diogenes, and also Creatie&Wellness, which expressed interest in operating business travel to Slovenian wellness centres and health resorts. According to Miha Kovačič, The Netherlands is a sizeable prospective market for Slovenian business tourism, which “we have not yet tapped into properly.”
