Stairway Construction at Old Castle in Celje

The construction of a multi-purpose stairway to Friderik's Tower started at the Old Castle in Celje, which will be completed by 25 June 2008. The necessary infrastructure for events and visitors—a new function building in the immediate vicinity of the castle gate—will also be set up this year. The new building will house an information office, souvenir shop, modern restrooms and function hall.

The construction of a multi-purpose stairway to Friderik's Tower started at the Old Castle in Celje, which will be completed by 25 June 2008. The necessary infrastructure for events and visitors—a new function building in the immediate vicinity of the castle gate—will also be set up this year. The new building will house an information office, souvenir shop, modern restrooms and function hall.

The municipality of Celje is renovating the Old Castle to build the necessary infrastructure so that the castle will be able to host various cultural and tourist events. The overall investment in the infrastructure, the construction of which will be underway from September 2007 to September 2009, is worth EUR 1,298,317, with the Government Office for Regional Development (SVLR) grant in the amount of EUR 900,000.
