The trend of arrivals and overnight stays in the first six months indicates a slight decrease in the number of tourist arrivals and overnight stays from the main outgoing markets: Italy, Austria and Germany. However, the good news is that the number of Swiss (overnight stay index at 122), Dutch (overnight stay index at 123) and Russian tourists (overnight stay index at 122) and tourists from other European countries (the highest index, 173 of all registered overnight stays) has increased. Arrivals and overnight stays made by domestic tourists also had an important impact on these very good results.
The length of stay at Slovenian natural health resorts is among the longest in Slovenia: an average of 4.10 days. The facts that the average length of stay in Slovenia is 3.08 days and that Slovenian natural health resorts account for more than one-third of all overnight stays speak for themselves. The same goes for above-average hotel occupancy, which stood at an average of 59.2% in the first six months of the year.
