Two Public Tenders for Investments in Private Tourism Infrastructure Announced

Two public tenders for investments in private tourism infrastructure have been announced in the context of the new Financial Perspective 2007–2013. The one announced by the Ministry of the Economy (ME) is intended primarily for major investments, with large, small and mid-sized companies as eligible applicants. The other, announced in the framework of the Slovene Enterprise Fund (SEF), is intended for small investments and aimed at small and mid-sized companies. The total amount under the ME tender is EUR 78 million and the SEF tender EUR 20 million.

Both tenders are aimed at investments in tourism infrastructure, however, the SEF tender focuses exclusively on investments into accommodation facilities, while the ME tender has a somewhat broader reach and includes investments in pools and pool complexes, construction and renovation of ski lifts, snowmaking facilities, golf courses and amusement parks.
Co-financing from either tender has already been approved for 73 projects related to tourism infrastructure, 55 of which to small and mid-sized companies. The total value of the co-financing granted so far is EUR 89 million. The winning projects will open 4,329 new accommodation capacities and create 1,056 new jobs.
