Maribor Wine District Wine Queen Contest Started

The Maribor Tourist Information Centre and Maribor Wine Growers Society invite women to enter the Maribor Wine District 2008–2010 Wine Queen Contest.

Women who wish to enter the contest have to meet the following criteria: Parents are wine growers in the Maribor wine district or the entrants themselves are involved in wine growing, aged under 25 at the time of entry, possess sound knowledge of the wine-growing trade, willing to participate in events and gatherings presenting Maribor and its wines in the organisation of the Maribor Tourist Information Centre and the Maribor Wine Growers Society.
The two-year-term wine queen will be selected by a special committee from among all the contestants. The winner will represent the Maribor wine district and the Old Vine, the oldest grape vine in the world.
