August Brings Many Visitors to Bled

Bled's stunning landscape, sports, pleasant ambiance, cultural and numerous other events attracted a large number of visitors this summer.

The Bled Tourist Board's end-of-summer report reveals that Bled registered a 2-percent drop in the number of visitors in the first eight months over the same period last year, generating a total of 167,837 overnight stays in July and August, the same as in July and August of 2007.

This year’s visitors to Bled were predominantly visitors from abroad, who accounted for as many as 96 percent of all visitors recorded in August; the number of visitors in August 2008 was down by 4 percent over August 2007. The number of domestic visitors, however, has increased, specifically by 18 percent in the first eight months and by a whopping 73 percent in August over the same periods in 2007.
