The Otočec Golf Course was crowned by the Economic Interest Grouping of Slovenian Golf Courses (GIZ GIS) best Slovenian golf venue for the second year in a row.

The Otočec Golf Course was crowned by the Economic Interest Grouping of Slovenian Golf Courses (GIZ GIS) best Slovenian golf venue for the second year in a row.

The coveted “Best Golf Course” title was introduced in 2007 and immediately won by Otočec. This year Otočec was officially announced best golf venue at Friday's final “Best Golf Course 2008” tournament, which was organised by GIZ GIS and the Golf Association of Slovenia and held in Otočec.
Eight Slovenian golf courses were short-listed to vie with each other for the title, and the winner was selected by golfers and an expert committee based on a number of criteria: course layout and design, condition, cleanliness and equipment, helpful, polite and professional staff, and value for money.
