Lipica Stud Farm's First Two Colts in 2009

The Lipica Stud Farm recently witnessed the birth of the first two colts in 2009. Named after their parents, they are called Maestoso Slavina XIX and Conversano Bonadea XXXV. Another 45 happy occasions are expected to take place at the Lipica Stud Farm this spring.

The Lipica Stud Farm, the cradle of the Lipizzaner horses, has more than four centuries of history, which ranks it among cultural monuments of European and worldwide renown. Today, Lipica is a tourist spot and recreation centre whose popularity can be credited to not only the stud farm and the beautiful white Lipizzaners, but also the wide range of services it offers. Particularly well worth visiting and memorable are classical riding school shows. Lipica is also a venue for traditional international equestrian events: World Cup dressage competitions and the Lipica Stud Farm Days. Lipica is developing into the equestrian hotspot of the country, a meeting place for horseback-riding enthusiasts from both Slovenia and abroad.
