January statistics for Slovenian natural health resorts

Slovenian natural health resorts recorded positive overall results in tourist arrivals and overnight stays in January 2009 compared to the same period in 2008.

In January 2009, 23,396 arrivals of domestic tourists were registered, which is 10% more than in the same period in 2008, and 20,352 arrivals of international tourists, which is up by 1% compared to 2008. The total number of tourist arrivals therefore reached 43,748 (index stands at 106 compared to the same period in 2008). The proportion of domestic against international tourists is in favour of the former (53% : 47%). According to overnight stay statistics, there were a total of 104,174 overnight stays of domestic tourists, which is 8% more than in January 2008 and accounts for 55% of all registered overnight stays; the percentage of overnight stays of international tourists climbed 4% (index 104). The total number of overnight stays is 188,988, which is up by 6% compared to January 2008.
