Slovenian Culture Week at College of Europe, Brugge, Belgium

The College of Europe, Brugge, is hosting the Slovenian Culture Week between 18–21 February. Four Slovenian students teamed up with German, Austrian and Swiss peers with the aim of enriching student life and presenting the folklore, culinary and wine features of the participating countries.

The Slovenian students, in association with the Slovenian Tourist Office for Benelux, organised a Slovenian Film Night at the College of Europe, Brussels, on Wednesday 18 February 2009 at 8 p.m., which included the screening of the film Rooster's Breakfast (Petelinji zajtrk) and the tasting of blueberry brandy, Slovenian wine and some typical Slovenian delicacies. The Karneval de Bruges, a party in the spirit of the Cologne Carnival, is scheduled for Saturday 21 February 2009.
The event was backed by the Slovenian Embassy in Belgium and sponsored by Termoelektrarna Toplarna Ljubljana, d.o.o., the Slovenian Business & Research Association, the Slovenian House in Brussels, the Maasmechelen-based Slovenian Cultural Society and the Slovenian Tourist Board.
