Expert Workshop on Cross-Border Tourism Cooperation

70+ tourism experts from Slovenia, Austrian Carinthia and Italian Friuli-Venezia Giulia took part in the expert workshop on cross-border tourism cooperation held in the context of the Playing Together/Brez meja project. The workshop was held in Kranjska Gora on 3 March 2009.

Divided into six focus groups (nature/sport, water/wellness, winter, gastronomy, culture, golf), the participants of this one-day workshop analysed the current situation and identified future opportunities for the development and marketing of shared tourism products.
The workshop was also attended by directors of the tourist boards of Slovenia, Mr Dimitrij Piciga, MSc, Carinthia, Mr Werner Bilgram, and Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Mr Andrea di Giovanni, all of whom undertook to carry out joint activities in 2009 and 2010. The proposals made during the event included joint organisation of two workshops, stronger mutual cooperation at tourism and travel fairs in the region, and the production of a new Playing Together/Brez meja brochure. The conclusions drawn from the workshop will serve as a firm footing for nurturing a more effective mutual cooperation among the three partner regions.
