The world's largest low-cost airline, Ryanair is launching a new regular flight route between Brussels South (Charleroi) and Ronchi (Trieste) on 31 March.

Initially, flights will be operated twice weekly, but the Irish airline would like to see this number increase. The new Ryanair flights to Trieste, Italy, will undoubtedly also be embraced by Belgian tourists looking to spend their holidays in Slovenia, particularly in Istria and the Karst region, with Ljubljana and the Alps very close by as well. In light of the new flight route, Mr Rok Klančnik, Head of the Slovenian Tourist Office in Brussels, highlighted the advantages of Slovenia as a tourist destination on the Carnet de bord radio show (Belgium's most popular tourism and travel radio show) on Sunday 8 March, between 3pm and 5pm, on the national RTBF's Vivacite radio station. The show host, the famous Carina Bressa, focused most of her questions on the Karst region, karst phenomena, wine and cuisine, and Lipizzaner horses. A synopsis of the radio show, complete with photographs, will be published in Vivacite Magazine, which has a circulation of roughly one million.
