Presentation of Slovenia at Famed Odeon, Amsterdam

A more prestigious location in Amsterdam to host the Slovenian tourism workshop than the famous Odeon Theatre would be hard to find.

A more prestigious location in Amsterdam to host the Slovenian tourism workshop than the famous Odeon Theatre would be hard to find.

Built as early as 1662 and originally housing a café At The White Lamb's, the Odeon later became one of the most famous buildings at the heart of Amsterdam, boasting a remarkably colourful history. It was visited by David Bowie, Freddie Mercury and Jean Paul Gaultier, among others. Organised by the Slovenian Tourism Office in association with Dutch partners, the workshop, which is scheduled for 8 May, is expected to draw more than 80 tour operators and tourist agencies.
Two leading Dutch tourism and travel magazines, Reis Actueel and Reisrevue, will serve as strategic partners to the event. This year's workshop will be focusing on thermal and natural health resorts and wellness centres. Apart from the slogan "Taste Slovenia", we will also highlight the fact that Slovenia is a land of water, which will undoubtedly be a magnet for the Dutch. The workshop will also include presentations of campsites, active holidays, mostly in Alpine regions, and the Slovenian coast. The May workshop is all the more important in light of the fact that the number of Dutch tourists in Slovenia slightly declined in the first two months of 2009.
