Two new vignettes for the use of motorways and expressways in the Republic of Slovenia apply from 1 July 2009

In May this year, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia specified the text of the proposal for the Act Amending Public Roads Act, subject to approval by the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia. In accordance with the new proposal, drivers of motorcycles, passenger vehicles and combined vehicles with the permissible maximum weight of 3.5 tons will be able to pay toll for driving on motorways and expressways in the Republic in Slovenia with the annual vignette and two new vignettes, i.e. monthly and weekly vignette.

Half-yearly vignette will remain in use for one-track vehicles / motorcycles, but not for two-track vehicles / passenger and combined vehicles. Owners of two-track vehicles who bought half-yearly vignette before 1 July 2009 will be able to use the vignette until the end of its validity period.
Monthly vignette will apply from the purchase date until the end of the day with the same number one month after the purchase. Weekly vignette will apply for seven consecutive days from the date specified by the user upon purchase.
Vignette prices and additional details will be defined by a new decree. All updates will be published on the web site www.dars.si.
