Bled: a destination for family holidays and weddings for people from the UK

Since the middle of July, images of Bled on 150 taxis in the centre of London in the areas of Victoria Station and Liverpool Street Station have been enticing people from the UK to visit Slovenia. The advertising campaign on UK taxis is just part of the marketing communication activities being carried out in the UK by the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB), during the summer tourist season, in cooperation with the Slovenian tourism industry.

Since the middle of July, images of Bled on 150 taxis in the centre of London in the areas of Victoria Station and Liverpool Street Station have been enticing people from the UK to visit Slovenia. The advertising campaign on UK taxis is just part of the marketing communication activities being carried out in the UK by the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB), during the summer tourist season, in cooperation with the Slovenian tourism industry.

Advertising on 150 taxis in London in the areas of Victoria Station and Liverpool Street Station will run from 15 June until the middle of August. The central motif on the taxis is an image of Bled, as a destination for family holidays and weddings for the UK market. In addition to Bled, the taxis also advertise a special airfare from London offered by Adria Airways, and invites people from the UK to visit the website www.slovenia.info.  

During the campaign, all visitors to the website from the UK will encounter a special pop-up window, which presents a number of possibilities for enjoying family holidays in Bled, with specific holiday packages, as well as Bled as a wedding destination.

As part of the taxi-based advertising campaign, Internet-based advertising began on 16 July at www.mumsnet.com, where interested parties will find a link on the homepage and at the heading Travel that leads to a special website at www.slovenia.info, offering specific tourist packages and information on how to enjoy an interesting family holiday after just two hours of travel.

The Bled Tourist Office carried out an independent advertising campaign in the magazine Cosmopolitan, in which it presents Bled as a wedding destination.

The target group in both campaigns are young women, who typically select the family holiday destination, and the destination for their own wedding.
