The region of Goriška Brda receives the 2022 Golden Wine Awards

The Golden Wine Awards took place on March 21 at the Moreno estate in Masagne (Brindisi). Following the international success of the Food and Travel Italia Awards in Lavello (Potenza) last October, the Italian edition of the international magazine, which is published in 18 countries and covers gourmet travel, organized a new prestigious event designed to reward Italian manufacturers that excel in quality. This time, in the province of Puglia.

As many as 6 categories were awarded: red wines, white wines, rosés, sweet wines, sparkling wines and the category of the best wines in Pugla in honour of the host region.

Goriška Brda received the prestigious Golden Wine Awards 2022 for the best international wine tourist destination.

The award was taken over by the director of the Brda Institute for Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports, Tina Novak Samec. The head of the Slovenian Tourist Board Representative Office in Italy, Aljoša Ota, emphasizes: "We are really pleased that Brda has been recognized as the best international single-destination destination at the Golden Wine Awards 2022. This confirms that the long-term strategic vision of the Slovenian Tourist Board, which is focusing on local excellence for the development of tourism products in cooperation with the local community, is the right path. Since 2015, Brda has been included in the list of EDEN - European Destinations of Excellence, thanks to numerous local development programs. Today, the destination has been rewarded for its work."
