Bled Strategic Forum 2021: Future of Europe

Europe is the most popular and most visited travel region in the world. For many European countries, tourism makes up the central core of the economy and has been among the most affected industries due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including Slovenia. Due to the high multiplicative effects of tourism, the activities directly or indirectly linked to tourism have suffered significant losses, too.

The Tourism panel at Bled Strategic Forum, which is organised in partnership with the Slovenian Tourist Board and the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology of the Republic of Slovenia, will address the future of European tourism, its recovery, and the expected changes in tourism demand that will have to be taken into account. For most of Slovenian destinations, the summer season, though quite short, has turned out to be better than expected. But what will autumn bring? What will the tourism balance sheet look like at the end of 2021? The discussion with experts from the internationally most important tourism-related institutions, including UNWTO, WTTC, OECD, ETC, HOTREC, ECM, will attempt to provide answers to these pressing questions.

The Bled Strategic Forum has evolved into a leading international conference in Central and South-Eastern Europe. The 16th edition of the Forum, held between 1 September and 2 September 2021, will be titled Future of Europe. Young Bled Strategic Forum will take place on 31 August and 1 September in parallel with the main event.
