More than 400 cyclists from 44 countries joined the Virtual Cycling Tour of Slovenia

The first stage of the I feel Slovenia virtual cycling race of Slovenia attracted a great number of recreational cyclists from five continents. Matej Mohorič, a member of the Bahrain Victorius professional team, joined them.

More than 400 cyclists from 44 countries joined the Virtual Cycling Tour of Slovenia

German Julian Steffens was the first to reach the top of Krvavec with an excellent time of 43 minutes and 34 seconds. Among Slovenian recreational athletes, 19-year-old Lara Rajterič was the fastest in the first stage of the virtual race in Slovenia.

The virtual cycling race is an exceptional opportunity to promote Slovenia as a cycling destination. Therefore, the partnership with the best Slovenian cyclists, including Primož Roglič, who are also great ambassadors of Slovenia to the world, is an additional motivation for foreign recreational cyclists to join the race and get to know the beauties of Slovenia in a virtual environment (for now).

The virtual cycling race around Slovenia will have four more stages, taking place each Saturday, starting at 7 pm. The live broadcast can be watched also on the Rouvy YouTube channel. The next stage will run from Črnomelj to Novo mesto via Gorjanci. It will be 42 kilometers long, and this time the guest will be professional cyclist Jani Brajkovič. 

Each stage counts as a stand-alone race, at the end of each stage the winner symbolically wins a virtual green jersey. Among those who will compete in all five stages, a green T-shirt for the winner will be awarded in the men’s and women’s categories in different age categories.

• March 6, 2021: Črnomelj - Novo mesto (42.3 km)
Special guest: Jani Brajkovič (Adria Mobil)
• March 13, 2021: Izola - Šmarje - Koper (39 km)
Special guest: Domen Novak (Bahrain Victorius)
• March 20, 2021: Bohinj - Bled - Pokljuka (40.3 km)
Special guest: Primož Roglič (Jumbo Visma)
• March 27, 2021: Chronometer on the streets of Ljubljana (17.6 km)
