Each stop during light sports activities will be accompanied by beers from the excellent craft brewers of Kamnik and modern dishes from local providers. The legendary Beer of Freedom will inspire you to aim for new ventures, and a visit to the largest microbrewery in Kamnik will add the finishing touch to your beer experience.

Active strolls to the Kamnik microbreweries

Strap on your backpack and set off on a sports and culinary journey that reveals stories about beer and freedom in the place with the most breweries per inhabitant in the world. According to local legend, the birthplace of the famous Rudolf Maister, the liberator of Slovenia’s northern border, gave the world the mysterious “beer of freedom” during the boom in hop growing and brewing at the end of the 19^th century, which is said to have inspired all the great inventors of the time. Today, Kamnik is the capital of microbreweries. Here you can find two of the ten largest Slovenian microbreweries, which you can also get to know on your Beer Way to Freedom Tour.

The circular walk among the brewers is picturesque, full of local stories and legends, and spiced with fun beer and sports entertainment. The hike is suitable for anyone who enjoys walking. Four stops ensure that the journey is not too long. During the stops, you can taste beer from four Kamnik brewers along with excellent dishes from local providers of modern street food. Stay with one of the brewers for a longer period, get to know them better and see their brewery.

Opening hours: Every Thursday between 11.00 and 18.00 for an active sports and beer experience, and between 17.00 and 20.30 for a short experience without sports activities

Price: EUR 98 per person for a long experience and EUR 65 per person for a short experience
