Lent Festival, international multicultural festival
A festival that brings summer to the city!

Visit us under the starry sky, among the colourful lights, sounds and rhythms!

The story of the Lent Festival is the story of evenings that smell like summer and invite you to socialize, to get out, under the starry sky, among colourful lights, sounds, rhythms. To the squares that become venues, to the streets that ripple with a colorful river of visitors from all over the world, to a place where you meet with friends. The Lent Festival is a festival that widely opens the doors of the city. The doors through which we will enter the summer for the thirtieth time.

The Lent Festival is the largest Slovenian open-air festival and one of the largest in Europe.

Every year it welcomes about two hundred thousand visitors, almost every fourth Slovene has visited it at least once. It is a celebration of art, culture and creativity of all genres for all generations, and a space for discovering, learning, meeting and coexisting in a variety of cultures. It is a festival that, for the thirtieth time, will transform the city into a giant stage and a vibrant meeting point for artistic expressions.

The Lent Festival is also a festival of festivals, bringing together as many as five. It hosts the world-renowned international CIOFF festival Folkart, the international jazz music festival JazzLent, the Ana Desetnica street theatre festival, the Art Kamp festival of creativity and the Stand up Lent festival.

More than twenty festival venues, stretching from the banks of the river Drava to the City park, are only a few minutes' walk away. The genre-diverse and varied program allows everyone to find something for themselves - from the youngest to the oldest. Opera and ballet, theater and dance performances, jazz concerts, classical music concerts, world music, singer-songwriter concerts, chanson and ethno music concerts, folklore evenings, street theater performances, film screenings, sports activities and events and activities for children.
