It takes place in Bohinj, in the heart of the Julian Alps – a region with a strong mountaineering identity, a long tradition of mountain activities, and a strong connection with nature. The festival is designed as a comprehensive experience that combines guided ski touring tours, expert workshops, lectures, and competitions. The program is intended for a wide range of participants – from those who are just getting acquainted with ski touring to experienced skiers looking for more challenging terrain, a better understanding of conditions, and in-depth knowledge. Through easier activities and accompanying events, the festival is also open to companions and younger visitors. The festival places special emphasis on understanding the mountain environment, winter conditions, and the risks that are an integral part of mountain activities. Ski touring is not just a sport, but a process of decision-making, judgment, and adaptation. The dangers in the mountains are a reality that must be known, respected, and taken into account. The Bohinj Ski Touring Festival is not just a sporting event. It is responsible for the overall implementation of the additional program, technical support for the event, and coordination of all implementation activities in the field. Guided ski touring tours and workshops are conducted by IFMGA-licensed OutVentureX guides, with an emphasis on responsible leadership, situation assessment, and clear communication in a real mountain environment. The team has many years of experience in organizing high-profile sporting events, including the Julian Alps Trail Run by UTMB, Ultra Trail Run Vipava Valley, and Soča Outdoor Festival, with a clear emphasis on safety, logistics, and high-quality execution.
