My way of enjoying food

Tempted to indulge in something different, special, and delicious? Restaurant week is a unique opportunity to familiarise yourself with the charms of Slovenia’s top cuisine. If you enjoy eating well, you will undoubtedly visit one of the 111 participating restaurants, where chefs will make special effort to thrill you. There is absolutely no need to worry about high prices. The menus at all restaurants are available at affordable prices.

Restaurant Week is the largest culinary campaign in Slovenia, and we are proud to have participated in it since the beginning.

The main slogan of this year's Restaurant Week is "Original, Not a Copy!", which is the organisers' way of highlighting participating restaurants' differences, uniqueness and originality. The participating restaurants include three Michelin-starred restaurants: Grič, Strelec and Hiša Linhart. The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food and Slovenian livestock breeders and meat processors are also taking part in Restaurant Week with promotional activities to encourage (even greater) use of local ingredients among Slovenian fine dining.

The focus of 2024 Restaurant Week is originality. We choose restaurants that stand out, that are special and different, that are better than average. We don't go to Restaurant Week because we’re passing by, because we're hungry for a snack, or because we're bored. We go to Restaurant Week for the experience, which is special precisely because it is not the same everywhere.

Uroš Mencinger, the culinary curator of Restaurant Week

Since we got the Michelin star, we have even more guests, but we have been participating in Restaurant Week from the very beginning and will continue to do so in the future, albeit with fewer available slots. But we want to be around.

It’s when the restaurant is packed, the guests are enjoying themselves and we are working at full blast in the kitchen.

All you need to know about Restaurant Week

Do you enjoy eating well? If so, be sure to catch Restaurant Week. Twice a year, in the spring and in the autumn, you can set off on a splendid 10-day culinary journey, exploring a variety of flavours that will leave you far from indifferent. Top Slovenian chefs will shower you with their creativity and knowledge by serving you at least three courses.  Only restaurants approved by the discerning food critic Uroš Mencinger may participate in Restaurant Week.

Restaurant Week is, in fact, a school of flavours, during which you become taste explorers. It is up to the chefs to be creative and innovative, and it is up to the guests to be curious and open-minded.

Only the best can take part in Restaurant Week; this is a time during which chefs are allowed to be a bit bolder, while guests can be a bit more critical.

Menus in restaurants labelled with one heart are available at a single price of EUR 24 and include at least three courses. In restaurants labelled with two hearts you will pay EUR 2 more or EUR 26 for a menu. Restaurants labelled with three or more hearts may opt for an additional EUR 6 so you will pay EUR 30 for a menu.

Restaurant Week is intended for the young, both in age and at heart. On the one hand, young chefs get the chance to showcase their knowledge and creativity, and the clientèle includes many young people on the other.

Menus with stories

When you sit at the table, you will be welcomed not only by a wealth of diverse flavours, but you will also learn about the stories of selected restaurants through their dishes. Their identity, origin and unique character are reflected on the plate.

Restaurant Week is one of the most beautiful culinary events of the year and is also important to us because we can use it to test our craziest ideas. Restaurant Week guests are curious guests.
