Rogla Observation Tower

One of the most attractive themed trails in Slovenia, the Rogla Treetop Walk, has its own 37-metre-high observation tower. The walk to the tower is an attraction in itself, as it enables you to explore the Pohorje mountains from the treetops themselves. From the tower, you can see a large chunk of Slovenia stretching all the way to the Julian Alps. The most daring visitors can even slide down the tower to the ground.

Gonjače Observation Tower

The idyllic Brda hills could be called Slovenia's “Tuscany" or "Provence" for their picturesque landscape. Their vineyards, orchards, olive groves and the charming villages are an inspiration to romantic souls. The area is best viewed from the Gonjače Observation Tower. This 23-metre-high tower with 144 stairs is actually a monument to the victims of the Second World War. In addition to the Brda hills, it offers views of the Julian and Carnic Alps, the Dolomites, the region of Friuli, the Gulf of Trieste, the Karst, the Vipava Valley and the Trnovo Forest.

Otočec observation tower

On the Drvošec themed trail in the Notranjska Regional Park, ascend the 10-metre high observation tower located next to Lake Cerknica. The tower offers the most wonderful view of Slovenia’s largest intermittent lake when the area is flooded or the most extensive karst field when the lake disappears underground. Use binoculars to watch water birds on the lake’s surface or birds of prey circling above the lake. In the dry season, you can also catch a glimpse of other animals coming to water holes to drink and feed.
