Festive lights switch-on in the spirit of friendship
On Friday, December 6, the switch-on of the festive lights in Tito Square will focus on the little ones and the essence of friendship. In collaboration with Theatre Koper and supported by young dancers, singers, brass players, and gymnasts, we will present a theatrical, dance, and musical fairy tale designed for the youngest audience. On St. Nicholas Day, the Praetorian Palace will become home to two families, two children, each residing on their own side of the palace. This tale of friendship, hope, and connection will remind us of the importance of community and immerse us in the magical spirit of December.
The festive lights switch-on will be followed by a celebration on the main stage of Fantazima at the Taverna, where the Vasco Rossi Rewind Tribute Band will perform.
Winter Village in Carpaccio Square
This December, the Winter Village in Carpaccio Square will shine even brighter with new light installations and festive decorations, along with an expanded culinary offering.
Concerts at the Taverna
Among the lineup are Mambo Kings, Flirrt, Beatles Legendado, Maja Kevc, Kokosy, Pop Design, and many more.
Adrenaline adventures on the extended ice rink
This year, the ice rink right by the sea with the best view in the area will extend from the square by the former Maritime Administration all the way to Mandrač. New this year is a connecting car ice track, adding to the excitement!
Amusement park on Ukmar Square
The fun for the little ones will continue from the ice rink to the nearby Ukmar Square, which will be completely dedicated to an amusement park for the first time this year.
Santa's Post Office returns to the Taverna
One of the most beloved destinations for young children—Santa's Post Office—is returning to Koper's Taverna this year. Children will have the chance to create beautiful letters to Santa filled with their wishes and send them off to the North Pole.
A fairy tale in the town center
This year, a new feature for young visitors to Fantazima is being introduced. Nine shop windows along Čevljarska ulica and one in Prešeren Square at the Libris bookstore will be adorned with enchanting displays featuring evergreen illustrations by Jelka Reichman, accompanied by children's poetry from established Slovenian authors.
Advent walks and a journey through time
Once again this year, three Advent walks and one Christmas walk will open the doors of sacred buildings that we can usually admire only from the outside. Experienced guides will take visitors on a journey back in time, sharing numerous anecdotes and curiosities. The walks will begin on Sunday, December 8, and continue for three consecutive Sundays.
New Year's Eve with Tabu at the Taverna
The popular Slovenian band Tabu promises an unforgettable party to bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new one.
