A carefully interwoven and coordinated learning experience about cultural heritage and authentic local specialities promises an unforgettable day. Your taste buds are pampered with top-class “castle” cuisine by the best Posavje chefs, who specialise in dishes prepared with local, authentic ingredients, along with the best Posavje wines. Moments create memories and memories connect people, so there will be many unforgettable impressions to fill your castle day. You can also experience chocolate making, an authentic blacksmith’s workshop and many other castle surprises.

The route takes you to the seven castles of Posavje: Brežice, Kunšperk, Mokrice, Rajhenburg, Sevnica and Svibno and the former Cistercian monastery Kostanjevica na Krki. Each castle has its own character to delight visitors and you’ll find a wealth of experiences during your castle wanderings in Posavje.

What to expect from the experience:

• Beginning of the experience in the Thermal Riviera of Terme Čatež. Viewing the digitised content of the Posavje castles in the interpretation room in Terme Čatež. 
• Tour of the printing house in the Kostanjevica na Krki Monastery and making your own graphics.
• Tour of Mokrice Castle and a walk through the well-kept aristocratic English park.
• Tour of Brežice Castle with its museum collection and the luxuriously painted Knight’s Hall.
• Lunch at the local Gostilna Šempeter in Bistrica ob Sotli.
• Visiting a blacksmith and tour of the blacksmith’s workshop in Bistrica ob Sotli, and forging your own horseshoe for good luck.
• Chocolate workshop at Rajhenburg Castle.
• Walk by the Sava River along the Savus educational trail.
• Noble dinner at Gostilna Jež in Radeče.

• Evening visit to Countess Mathilde at Sevnica Castle.
