FesDivjal - Wild Food Festival

FesDivjal - Wild Food Festival

Between September 5 and 6, 2026, FesDivjal—Slovenia’s largest festival of wild plants, mushrooms, natural cuisine, nature conservation practices, and holistic approaches to understanding nature, nutrition, and quality of life in the modern world—will once again take place in the heart of Kozjansko Park. The festival is establishing itself as one of the leading models of sustainable development, bringing together local knowledge, science, and practical solutions for the future coexistence of humans and nature in Slovenia and the wider European region.

A fairgrounds set amid unspoiled nature, with crowds of visitors browsing the booths.

FesDivjal serves as an educational and experiential center where knowledge is not merely conveyed theoretically, but through hands-on work, experiences, and practice in a natural environment. It brings together experts, practitioners, and visitors in a shared space for learning and developing modern, sustainable solutions rooted in local resources and ecosystems.

FesDivjala 2026 Program:

• Expert workshops: the central educational component and the only paid part of the festival program - 19 expert workshops led by Slovenia’s most prominent experts in the fields of foraging, herbalism, mushroom hunting, fermentation, natural cuisine, natural building, sustainable farming, and ecological practices; the workshops are based on hands-on work in nature and the direct application of knowledge to everyday life

• Wild MasterChef – a professional culinary competition where master chefs from the MasterChef Slovenia TV show, together with experts in foraging, create dishes using wild and local organic ingredients

• Kids’ Wild MasterChef – the first sustainable culinary competition for children in Slovenia: children (5th–9th grade)
