Camille Saint-Saëns: Samson and Delilah

Camille Saint-Saëns: Samson and Delilah

Samson and Delilah is Camille Saint Saëns’ most frequently performed stage work, where the biblical story unfolds through rich orchestral colour, powerful choral scenes, and emotionally charged solo passages. In concert form, the music itself becomes the core dramatic force. Under the direction of Charles Dutoit, the resident ensembles of the Ljubljana Festival present the work in its full sonic intensity.

Camille Saint-Saëns’s masterpiece Samson and Delilah brings the biblical tale of passion and betrayal to life. Conducted by the legendary Charles Dutoit, this performance features the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir alongside the NFM Choir. Canadian star Marie-Nicole Lemieux takes on the role of Delilah, joined by tenor Nikolai Schukoff as the heroic Samson. Expect magnificent choral scenes and lyrical intensity in this definitive showcase of the French repertoire.
