Opening of the 74th Ljubljana Festival, Giacomo Puccini: Turandot

Puccini’s Turandot, his final operatic masterpiece, marks the centenary of its premiere and opens the 74th Ljubljana Festival. The title role of the enigmatic princess will be sung by Rebeka Lokar, alongside acclaimed tenor Jusif Eyvazov as Prince Calaf. The production is conceived in its entirety by Filippo Tonon, with the Orchestra of Opera SNG Maribor conducted by artistic director Simon Krečič.

The 74th Ljubljana Festival opens with the SNG Maribor performing Turandot, celebrating its centenary. Puccini’s masterpiece, completed by Alfano, features a vision by Filippo Tonon and conductor Simon Krečič. In the title role is soprano Rebeka Lokar, while the celebrated tenor Yusif Eyvazov returns as Prince Calaf, the only suitor to solve the princess’s three riddles.
