Hike to Savica Waterfall on Cultural Holiday

On the cultural holiday, February 8, you can take part in a free guided hike to Savica Waterfall, one of Bohinj's most recognizable natural landmarks and a source of inspiration for Slovenian poets. The event combines nature, culture, and tradition in the heart of Triglav National Park and offers a pleasant experience with views, socializing, and refreshments.

A majestic waterfall cascades down rugged cliffs into a vibrant turquoise pool. Surrounded by mossy rocks, the scene conveys tranquility and natural beauty.

On February 8, the Bohinj Tourist Association is organizing a free hike to the Savica Waterfall, a symbol of inspiration for great Slovenian poets and one of the most recognizable natural landmarks in the Triglav National Park.

Event program

  • Meeting point: at 9:00 a.m. in front of the Bohinj Information Center in Ribčev Laz
  • Participation: free of charge
  • Registration: required at prireditve@tdbohinj.si – by February 7, 2026, at 12:00 p.m.

The path to the Savica Waterfall is maintained by the Bohinj Tourist Association. Along the way, you will learn about the area's attractions and enjoy views of the Julian Alps and Triglav National Park.
