Zmago Jeraj: Paintings from the period 1999-2014

The exhibition will be open until January 25 at the Mihelič Gallery.

Abstract painting features a distorted house with swirling trees in vibrant colors. A figure with flowing hair is amidst chaotic textures, evoking a sense of mystery.

Fifteen years of life, creative energy, and emotions in the paintings of the great Slovenian artist, photographer, professor, and Prešeren Award winner will be on display for the first time in a selection of works from his last painting period, which is also closely connected to Ptuj. At the turn of the millennium, and especially after 2000, he continued his rich creative opus, reflecting a mature perception, deep reflection on visual language, and adaptation to more contemporary media. He left behind a rich artistic oeuvre, distinguished by exceptional artistic sensitivity, thoughtfulness, and a spirit of exploration, as well as a lasting influence on contemporary Slovenian art.
