Doblar Museum – Soča, Source of Energy

Doblar Museum – Soča, Source of Energy

Launch of the Energetics and Renewable Energy Museum.

The Doblar Hydropower Plant shares the beauty and the strength of the Soča River’s emerald waters. To highlight the industrial heritage of the Posočje region, Soške elektrarne Nova Gorica established a permanent tribute to the significance of energy and electrification in western Slovenia: a museum of energy and renewable resources, located in the oldest operational hydropower plant on the Soča River. The museum showcases a pivotal moment in industrialization and progress, emphasizing energy’s role in Posočje and the value of its industrial heritage.

Visiting hours: the museum is open on Saturdays from 11:00 to 13:00. Appointments are required at least 10 days in advance and guided tours are available for groups of at least 10 participants.

Price: free.

The Doblar HPP is an operating power plant. All visits are subject to prior appointment via the online form available on the SENG website (www.seng.si). You can also contact us by email at muzej.doblar@seng.si.
